Dearly beloved, you must not know about me, you must not know about me. I'm a picker, I'm a grinner, I'm a lover and I'm a sinner. And I'm sorry for blaming you. You're the one that I want, but if you want it, come and get it, for crying outloud!I don't know why I didn't come by...train roll on, I'm many miles from my home. Fightings within, and fears without. Maybe this year will be better than the last. No new Year's Day to celebrate, so let's go drifting through the trees. Sometimes it's hard to be a woman, but everytime I look into your loving eyes, I see a love that money just can't buy. But it's gonna take money. A whole lot of spending money. So...how 'bout cookin' somethin' up with me??? Just say my name... say my name.
Confused yet?
I thought it would be fun to post nothing but song lyrics strung together to see if you guys can figure them out, title and artist. Leave your comments with your guesses, and I'll post the answers at a later time. The one who gets the most right is ummm, well... sexy. That's right...I'm bringing sexy back. And if you win this contest, and you get the most answers right, then you will win sexy. All for yourself.

I am so absolutely astounded that you could create that. I am so jealous! I am song illiterate to the point I am made fun of by my dear husband. I guess I will not even be in the race for the "sexy" title, but thank you for the entertainment. I love it.
I recognize some of the lyrics but can't name them. There was a little old lady in my great grandmother's nursing home that would lay in her bed and sing, "how about cooking something up with me"
Abbey, I read your blog on occasion, linked as it is to many good friends, though we don't know each other well. I mostly was around you when I worked for a while for Diane O. Anyway, I love music and trivia, so may try this out. I love it!!
O.k., Abbey, this is an eclectic collection here! Do you really know all these? If so, I'm quite intrigued. I have to admit, a couple are iffy, because I didn't know them and had to google them. So, that may disqualify me. It was too much fun, esp. The Joker since James and I have had that song running through our brains lately. We're continually referring to each other as "space cowboy" or "Maurice". Yes, it's really weird. Anyway, here's my attempt, and the longest blog comment ever.

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman, Tammy Wynette - Stand by Your Man
but everytime I look into your loving eyes, I see a love that money just can't buy. Roy Orbison - You Got It
But it's gonna take money. A whole lot of spending money. George Harrison - Got my Mind Set On You
So...how 'bout cookin' somethin' up with me??? Hank Williams - Hey Good Lookin
Just say my name... say my name. Destiny's Child - Say My Name
Justin Timberlake - SexyBack
Oh My GOSH, Jennifer...
Jennifer, you are so fun! I love that you love music trivia!! I will say, that you most definately win sexy back. However, there are two that, though they may be songs, are different than what I wrote down. It's the "dearly Beloved" and "let's go drifting through thr trees" lyrics. They are neither one song titles of songs, just phrases from them. Anyway, I'll see if you can figure it out... Everything else is right on the money. Good job!! And yes, I did know all of those songs. I have a mass variety of music that I love. Everything from country, to hymns, to silly pop songs like "sexyback" that makes me die laughing. Like, where did sexy go exactly? Why is he bringing it back?? Ha...Anyway, that was fun!
Dearly Beloved-Purple Rain or when the Doves Cry by Prince(I can't remember)
Drifting through the trees-Life is Beautiful by Keb Mo
I did not have time to respond earlier But I feel confident that I could have brought sexy back. Oh well, I'll just bring o kay looking back...if that's alright.
Girl, you are right-ola on these two other songs, AND the fact that you could have brought sexy back!! Jennifer did, however, beat you to it. (You need to get high speed internet if you want to be winning these sorts of delightful contests!!)
I could kiss your face for visiting my sweet mommy today. In fact, I might do it next time I see you! You're the best...Your simply the best!!!! (Tina Turner) Hee Hee :)
I'm impressed and I've wondered the same thing about sexy...where did it go? That song is kind of weird sounding and I always feel guilty when it comes on so I quickly change the station!
