My Commercial Break

There's a new band that I love. They call themselves The White Oaks.

And here's what I know about them:

  • They're good souls.
  • They're incredibly talented.
  • They've been on Reg's coffee house 3 weeks in a row.
  • They're great guys.
  • They're playing at Workplay this Friday at 9pm.
  • They should be heard by everyone.
  • They will be famous.
  • They will hopefully cut me a check for this promo one day.

So.... come out to hear 'em! They have a really contagious feel and a great sound. You will sway. You will bob your head. You will clap. You will sing along. You will most likely scream, "Wooooooo!" at several points during the show, just because you feel good. And you will most definitely, at some point, want to stretch out your arms and spin around with your eyes closed and your head tilted all the way back, even though you probably won't go through with this. BUT... you will want to!

The White Oaks...

And these are them... Noel Johnson, Scott Thrift, Matt Jackson, and Michael Glaser.

Oh, and there's no cover!! So it really doesn't matter if you frequent the music scene, are a relentless fuddy-dud, simply a tight wad, or just plain ole "po folks"... it's free!!!

And I do love me somethin' good for free.

You can check them out here: www.myspace.com/thewhiteoaks

Now back to your regular blogging.

I don't think I'm cool enough to attend an event at the WorkPlay theater. I don't even know where it is. I am so uncultured.
I usually spend Friday nights picking my nose and checking my kids butts to make sure they've been cleaning them.
But if by some freak of nature I was able to find a babysitter and come to this free cultured event, that would be a lot more fun!

Is it an all ages show?

They sound great...thanks for the commercial. Is this THE Matt Jackson? :-)

It's not all ages. It's 21 & up this time.
Jennifer, it's probably not the MJ you're thinking of. This one leads worship at our church, but does the band thing on the side. He's muli-cultured. ;)
