Lot-O-Changes

Man, I thought I would never again have anything to say of any importance. Well, at least for blogging anyway. But after much pondering on the subject, I realized that nothing much that I say on blogs are of very much importance to begin with, so I decided to carry on.

And I was right with the last post... A change did do me some good. Especially the kind of change that involves family, friends, sand, surf & seafood!

Me, Elliot & Wilson monkeying around

Surfer dudes
Testosterone on the beach

Burying little brother

Matt Jackson entertaining us

Me & Molly
Hangin' with the Jacksons
But the past month as a whole has been full of changes. I'm not sure if feeling the loss in death just made me recognize change more intensely or if recent changes are actually big enough ones to recognize. Either way, change is in the air in the Gore house.
For instance...
Elliot turned 7 and Wilson turned 4!! That was a huge change... (for me anyway)

Another biggie... we inherited a dog! Her name is Tica (pronounced Teeka) Our friends Chris and Ashley are moving to Taiwan & can't take her along, so we gladly took her sweetness off their hands. She is the best dog on the planet, in my humble opinion. She sits, lies down, dances, comes when called, and has great table manners. AND she kinda looks like Alf, which makes me so happy. (Alf the TV Alien, not the friend!) ;)

Another change that feels pretty big to me is that I started running again. That has changed my eating patterns and sleep patterns big time, and has made me acutely aware of muscles in my body that I forget are there. Yowzers.

Something else that feels big is that we have officially decided not to move to Tennessee. It wasn't something that was wildly public to begin with, so it may not feel like a change to many of you, but to us, it was pretty substantial. That door was conveniently closed for us, so we are thankful that the Lord made that clear for now. And to all those (and you know who you are!) that were praying against it all along... welp, looks like God is on your side! ;)

But here are those good friends that would have been our neighbors. They recently came for a visit...

A fun change that I decided on in one moment and acted upon in the next, is my new red kitchen. It was simply a split second decision that was based on nothing more than, "I think I'll paint the kitchen red". Now it's red. And I'm still deciding if I like it or not. (And the painting is incomplete in the photo, just in case you think I like the artsy "dripping blood" kind of look.)
Now that's not every change, but just some noticeable ones.
Some were planned, some were not. Some were controlled, others were completely out of my control. But as both exist, I'm learning to live with them. And I feel, at very least, like I'm moving forward regardless of the changes that come. Dewayne would say that's growth. Willie would say I'm "On the Road Again" . I like both sentiments.
Hope your summer is stretching you too.
Peace, Love & all that Jazz...

I LIKE the dripping blood kitchen.

Abbey, I need for you to concentrate. Sit. Now please send me your creative genius via telepathic waves.

I cannot believe you painted your kitchen. I feel incapable of doing anything like that by myself.

You have such an amazing fan club!! and Im not even jealous. I can see totally why you have such a fan club:) I would only be mad if I felt that I couldnt be apart of it! Anywhoo - love the red kitchen, I also think 6 to 7 / 3 to 4 is HUGE, and your new dog certainly looks like an interesting creature. BTW, you were probably not talking about me but God is on MY side too:)

Graced... this coming up week is great & slow! Let's get together!!

Missy... thx my friend, but maybe ya'll are due a good trip to the old library...There are actual authors out there that deserve that credit! YOu are too sweet! :)

Stinsons... we miss y'all too! Home group's just around the corner, thank goodness! And I would take you up on the running except that you could walk beside me at my pace compared to y'alls and that would only be for like a mile when I would poop out. But thx anyways!! Call me in a month... (or two!) :)

Care-in... yay I found you again!! And the cutest blog name ever!!!

Kim... you WOULD like the dripping blood, with all your spookiness & stuff! That made me laugh! As far as creative genius... well, drink a beer or two... It helps. :)

Amanda... THx for hangin' in there w/ my blog! And great minds think alike on the kitchens! ;)

Alli... keep commenting... you always make me feel like the best ever in the universe at whatever it is we're talking about. And that, on some particular days, is a great thing. Thx! :)

Allison... you will always be a part of whatever club I'm in! You did after all, win my money in poker (Oprah) and I expect to win that back someday. But I will always love you no matter how much of my money you "steal" and I say that bitterly. ;) (hee hee)
And I'm guessin' you guys were praying FOR the move... it would have made us closer!!! :)
