- What a good day.
I slept until almost 9am, due largely to a sizeable amount of Thera-Flu, but I'll take what I can get. Thank goodness for a mild head cold...a good excuse to skip the morning run and catch some extra zzzzz's. Elliot fixed his own cereal and settled into some extra cartoons, while Wilson & I were crashed. I stumbled downstairs around 10 to check email and made my morning scrabble play, while chugging a huge cup of coffee and munching a zone bar. The next time I even looked up, I realized it was almost noon, and the boys were STILL watching cartoons!!! Wow...I'm a wonderful parent. After lunch, it was magically time for Wilson's nap, which better translated means...mommy time, during which I settled into a great book, Soul Cravings by Erwin McManus. Then I played a couple of games with Elliot, drank a Coke Zero, talked on the phone for way too long, picked up Ando from school, fixed snacks, and started supper. My neighbor(and my hero) played football with the boys ALL afternoon. That man deserves a "medal of awesome neighborliness" in my book. Then we set the table, lit candles and all hid under the table in a hurried panic from daddy(our Friday night ritual) so we can jump out and "surprise" him as he walks through the door. He is no less shocked and equally surprised every week...to the boys delight. After supper we cleaned up, watched a movie (a painfully boring one about NASCAR), and made a "camp-out" for the boys in the down stairs den. Matt is reading upstairs, so that leaves me here...all alone. Blogging and listening to relaxing music. What a good day. I never even put on a bra.
Here are some things I found out today that are worth mentioning... - My friend Daph welcomed her new baby Naomi into the world. She's beautiful!
- Purple yogurt on Wilson's top lip makes Elliot throw up.
- A new roll of T.P. dropped into the toilet quadruples in size.
- Wilson's diaper not changed until noon also quadruples in size.
- Me, not wearing a bra, actually makes very little difference whatsoever.
- Our hallway is not a particularly good race trac for scooters.
- Wilson can count to 49...who knew?
- The game WAR can last FOREVER!!!
- Our friends the Lorenzens signed in blood to come visit us in Feb.
- The word "bushes" sounds exactly like "bullsh.."when spoken by a 2yr old with a southern drawl...
That's all folks...

mornin' to ya Abby girl! (if you read this in the AM?) I just wanted to say that a head cold is way better then the stomach flu-that I had during Christmas, not wearing a bra does not make much of a difference for me either:), and how did Wilsons diaper not fall off before noon? Aly
It was truly amazing that it stayed on...a small, but appreciated blessing. How adorable is that little Naomi? Doesn't it just make you want a girl?? Ha Ha Ha
Loved your Christmas letter with the family update. We didn't do cards this year, but keep wanting to get one of those nifty letters out to everyone...maybe someday.
You had the flu on Christmas? That's awful! Is your dad still visiting?
You are too funny!
love it... It sounds like an amazingly wonderful day. Almost completely useless and non-goal-oriented. I think I need one of those. It would be so fun if we could get together soon. I don't see you or Michelle half as much as I'd like to. It would be fun!
Love your "Friday night ritual" -- that's "making memories" your boys will remember their whooooooole life. You sound like a great mom. Love ya Ab! Charlotte (Theriot)
